Activities

BMPA / Friends of Bays has a long history of supporting the park both financially and with our labors of love. Recent activities include

• Received and distributed over $634,000 in donations towards the new Fox Den Playground (opening in Nov. 2025)

• Designing and organizing Campfire Tales 2025, featuring unique stories that come from Bays Mountain!

• Planning and leading the first controlled-burn at Bays Mountain Park (Natural Resource Management Committee)

• Coordinating the first large BMPA event in years: Kids Day 2024!!!

• Purchasing a dedicated ATV for park rangers (2023)

• Financial assistance for acquiring 2 new bobcat kittens (2022)

• Working with park staff to plan and execute a park "Natural Resource Management" plan (2022...)

• Financial assistance for building the new Moonshiner's Delight Trail (2022)

• Funding a rebuild of the Wolf pond (2022)

• Bays Mountain History programs: Hikes, barge rides, and presentations (2021...)

• Planning and executing the award-winning "50th Anniversary" celebration of the park (2021)
